Monday night, the main stage at Musikfest brought on two tribute bands to celebrate a portion of the musical catalogs of music of David Bowie and Prince, both artists passed away earlier this year.

Starting the show was The Band From Mars, a local Lehigh Valley group. They started their set with the songs contained on Ziggy Stardust, then shifted to more of Bowie’s more recent hits. Songs included were: “The Jean Genie”, “All the Young Dudes”, “Let’s Dance”, “Diamond Dogs” and “Fame”.

Swift Technique entered the purple set stage, and added more dance grooves to Prince’s music, as they covered most of Prince’s early hits: “Let’s Go Crazy”, “I Wanna Be Your Lover”, “When Doves Cry”, “Kiss”, “1999” and “Purple Rain”. The crowd rose to their feet pretty quickly and danced through the set.
