WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Ryan Mackenzie, representing the Greater Lehigh Valley (PA-07), announced the opening of the application process for Community Project Funding (CPF) requests for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026.
“The Community Project Funding program gives local communities a direct line to federal resources,” said Congressman Mackenzie. “Instead of leaving important local projects to compete nationally for limited grant dollars, this process gives us the ability to advocate for targeted investments that will improve lives right here in the Greater Lehigh Valley. I’m looking forward to helping to secure important funding for some of our great local projects”
Community Project Funding allows Members of Congress to submit direct funding requests for specific local projects through the annual appropriations process. Congressman Mackenzie’s office is permitted to submit a limited number of projects for consideration this year.
To ensure timely review and submission, all requests must be submitted to Congressman Mackenzie’s office no later than 5:00 PM ET on May 1, 2025.
Applicants should be prepared to submit detailed technical information about their project, as well as documentation demonstrating strong community support. Examples include letters of support from local officials, press coverage, inclusion in planning documents, or resolutions passed by local governing bodies. Submit your application here.
Criteria for consideration include:
- Federal Nexus: All projects must be eligible under an existing federal program. Each application must include a statement explaining how the project meets this requirement.
- Community Support: Demonstrated support from the community is critical for a competitive application. Letters, articles, and public documentation will strengthen requests.
- One-Year Funding: Projects must be funded entirely within FY26. Multi-year requests will not be considered.
- Eligibility Restrictions: For-profit entities are not eligible to apply. Additionally, non-profit organizations are ineligible for funding under the HUD Economic Development Initiative (EDI) account. Memorials, museums, and commemorative projects are also not eligible.
- Submission Process: Please submit your application only once it is complete. If you need to add or revise materials after submission, contact our office—do not submit a second application.
