Bethlehem, Lehigh Valley, PA. November 25, 2024 – As we make way for the new state-of-the-art Cultural Center to be completed in 2026, ArtsQuest’s visual arts and education programming will continue as planned, thanks to the generosity of community partners.
Our visual arts and education team is working with many organizations throughout the Lehigh Valley who will provide programming at various locations during the construction phase, including the Bethlehem Area Public Library, Bethlehem Area School District, Moravian University and more.
Here is a list of just some of the classes that are now registration ready – here.
Here is a list of classes that are located at the Bethlehem Area Public Library:
- January 11 – February 1: Cartooning and Anime for All Ages – Children’s Room
- January 22: Jump Start Your Book – Laros Room
- January 27 – February 10: Intro to Poetry Writing – Laros Room
- February 1: Needle Felting: Yeti – Cohen Room
- February 12 – February 26: Watercolor 101 – Cohen and Laros Rooms
- February 22: Shape Poems – Children’s Room
- March 8: Needle Felting: Owl – Laros Room
- March 12: Watercolor Bookmark Workshop – Laros Room
- March 29: Cartooning and Anime for All Ages – Children’s Room
- April 9 – April 19: Intermediate Watercolors – Cohen and Laros Rooms
- April 12: Needle Felting: Butterfly Portrait – Cohen Room
- May 10: Watercolor Bookmark Workshop – Laros Room
The main library is located at 11 W. Church St. in Bethlehem. There is free on-street parking around the library, most with 1- or 2-hour time limits. On weekdays at 5 p.m. and all day on Saturdays, parking is available in the garage beneath the library.
- To get to the Laros Room, enter the library and go to the second floor via stairs or elevator.
- To get to the Cohen Room, enter the library through the main entrance and pass through the double doors. The Cohen Room is on the left, across from the circulation desk.
- To get to the Children’s Room, enter the library through the main entrance, go to the second floor and go though the Children’s Library to get to the Children’s Room.
We will also be utilizing space at the ArtsQuest Campus at SteelStacks for our educational programming. Free programs including Toddler Storytime, the Teen Takeover Winter 2025 session and ALL ACCESSible programming will take place at the Bethlehem Visitor Center at SteelStacks presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network.
- Toddler Storytime will continue at the Visitor Center starting January 9 on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. through June 5.
- The Teen Takeover Winter 2025 session will take place on Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning February 4, 2025.
- ALL ACCESSible programming will continue to be offered on a registered basis.
Additionally, we will continue to offer paid programs including field trips, group visits and Girl Scouts workshops. Field trips and group visits will be throughout the SteelStacks campus at the ArtsQuest Center as well as the Bethlehem Visitor Center at SteelStacks presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network. Girl Scout workshops will take place at the Bethlehem Visitor Center at SteelStacks presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Off-site educational programming will also continue. Programs like ArtSmart, one-time Artist Workshops, Creative Aging and PCA Artist Residencies will continue to be offered at different locations.
