Two New Playground Open in Lower Macungie Township

The second of the two projects is scheduled to host its grand opening ribbon cutting on Thursday October 24th from 4:30 to 5:30. “We’re thrilled to let you know that the Spring Ridge Crossing Playground is coming to replace Danfield Playground, and we can’t wait for you all to experience it!” stated Kylene Gill, Assistant Recreation Director for Lower Macungie Township when asked about this upcoming event. “We’ve got some incredible, state-of-the-art playground equipment lined up, and we’re super excited to share it with you!”

The Spring Ridge Crossing playground includes several features that are brand new to the East Coast including the amazing corocord mini dome debuting in 2024, the awesome cocowave pendulum swing, a universal carousel, and a gigantic 25-foot tower with a super-fast slide. This project also includes ADA pour-in-place rubber technology that was debuted in the Farmington Hills project.

“A playground is such an integral part to bringing a community together and giving kids the opportunity to learn how to interact with others.” stated Hayden Rinde, the Assistant Vice President of the East Penn Chamber of Commerce, proud partners of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “We are honored to partner with Lower Macungie Township to showcase the grand opening of both of these new playgrounds and hope they foster the sense of community and learning for many, many years to come.”

Just in time to enjoy the crisp fall air, Lower Macungie Township completes two long awaited playground projects. The first, which held its grand opening ribbon cutting on Tuesday October 15th in partnership with the East Penn Chamber of Commerce, is located at Farmington Hills off Periwinkle Drive. Located in the heart of a neighborhood, this celebration was filled with laughter and sounds of joy from the local kids playing on this new playground equipment.

This project was the first in the township to debut the ADA pour-in-place rubber surfacing technology, replacing traditional mulch. “We are pleased to announce the opening of two new concept playgrounds, which will be accessible to residents of Lower Macungie Township and the greater Lehigh Valley. Our goal is to enhance Lower Macungie Township’s reputation as a premier destination for families to live, work, and play, and we believe that providing exceptional playgrounds and parks is vital to the overall quality of life in our community”. Stated Bruce Beitel, Manager of Lower Macungie Township when asked about these two projects and their impact on the area.
