BETHLEHEM, PA – This spring, Northampton Community College’s (NCC) Center for Business & Industry (CBI) is offering workshops to enhance your leadership abilities and professional growth.

The first workshop, Using Needs Assessment to Create a Targeted Development Plan, will be held April 5 from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m., at the Fowler Family Southside Center. The workshop focuses on the efficient assessment of developmental needs to create a targeted development plan that meets your employees where they are and provides a solid roadmap for learning, growth and success. Taught by NCC’s Director of Leadership Learning and Development, Ann Raines, participants will leave with techniques and skills that can be applied immediately to their 2024 training plans. This free workshop includes a continental breakfast and is ideal for HR professionals, training managers, and individuals looking to enhance their professional development. To register, please visit https://www.northampton.edu/development. For questions, please email Shelly Mule at smule@northampton.edu.

The next, The Leadership Challenge, is a two-day, in-person workshop that will be held April 8 and 9 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Fowler Family Southside Center. The workshop uses the Leadership Practices Inventory to examine the frequency with which leaders demonstrate the most powerful behaviors in engaging colleagues and team members. These practices include: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart. Within this leadership framework, participants will create a plan to incorporate the practices of successful leaders into the execution of their roles in order to realize their full leadership potential. The workshop includes all materials, breakfast and lunch. To register, please visit https://www.northampton.edu/cbiworkshops, click “View CBI Workshop Catalog,” and scroll down to “LDRWK141.”

Lastly, NCC’s CBI will offer its popular Management Certificate Program in an in-person format starting May 6. Workshops include: Basic Management Skills, Coaching for Improved Performance, Conflict Resolution Strategies, Effective Interactions, Managing the Performance of Others, and Responsive Leadership. All workshops are taught by industry-experienced instructors, and participants who complete all six courses will earn the NCC CBI Management Certificate. Virtual workshops will also be available.
