Allentown, PA — Construction has begun on a major renovation of the Bethlehem Transportation Center which serves as LANTA’s major transfer point in the city. All bus routes, including both EBS Rapid Transit routes, will continue to serve the area at Broad and Guetter Streets with no schedule changes. However, there will be no access for the public until the project’s completion this winter.
The long-planned renovation will include major changes to passenger waiting areas, as well as the addition of modern technology amenities like real-time displays, and ticket vending machines. In addition to the office and waiting areas there will be new bus shelters on Guetter Street.
“This renovation is part of our plan to improve the rider experience in Bethlehem in the heart of the LANTA service area,’ said Executive Director Owen O’Neil.”
Bus passes can continue to be purchased online or on the bus, and riders can reach out to LANTA customer service at 888-253-8333 or www.lantabus.com. Also, the LANtaBus Transit App provides real-time route and schedule information.
