Allentown, PA (March 7, 2016) William Allen High School’s Studio Dance Academy will present its Annual Dance Concert March 10 and 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the school’s Dr. John F. McHugh Auditorium. Tickets are $10 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased in the school’s Main Office for $8/adults and $5/students with ID.
This year’s concert is entitled “Poetic Movement” and each dance piece was developed based on a poem selected by a Dance Academy member. The concert is a collaboration between the 14 students and Dawn Blanco, Director of the Studio Dance Academy. Together they developed the choreographic plans that bring the poetry to life through movement.
In addition to the Studio Dance Academy performances, the Dance Concepts Class will perform a piece in the concert. The William Allen Theatre Department will perform a “sneak peak” from their spring production of West Side Story.
The Dr. John F. McHugh Auditorium at William Allen High School is located at 106 North 17th Street, Allentown.
