Trexlertown, Pa. – Friday morning the Valley Preferred Cycling Center and Executive Director Marty Nothstein announced one of its popular programs, the Red Robin Marty Nothstein Bicycle Racing League is returning for 2016. Additionally, the spring session’s schedule was released and registration was opened.
“We love BRL,” Nothstein said. “Red Robin has been such an outstanding sponsor of the program and of us. We have BRL in the spring and the fall and both sessions are always at capacity in terms of registration.”
The program is for children ages 9-16, with little or no competitive track cycling experience, as it introduces riders to the thrill of the sport. Participants compete in a four or five team league. Each team will compete against one another for points and a Team Champion will be crowned at the end of each season.
Additionally, All-Stars are chosen and compete in the Red Robin Finals, which is part of the World Series of Bicycling schedule.
Registration is $75 per child. All equipment is provided. The deadline to register for the 2016 Spring Red Robin Marty Nothstein Bicycle Racing League is April 3 at 5 p.m.
The first practice, an introductory session for new riders, is scheduled for April 4. The season runs through the middle of June.
