HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh) has been included on City & State Pennsylvania’s list of the 100 most influential leaders in the Commonwealth’s construction industry. The magazine recently released its “2023 Construction Power 100.”

The list “highlights the influential contractors, architects, engineers, labor leaders, government officials, and other experts who are responsible for Pennsylvania’s ever-evolving built environment,” according to the magazine.

“I am honored by this acknowledgement of my current role as Republican chairman of the House Labor and Industry Committee, and for my legislative work relating to the construction industry,” said Mackenzie. “I look forward to working with my fellow committee members on legislation that helps to grow Pennsylvania’s post-pandemic economy.”

In addition to his chairmanship, Mackenzie authored bipartisan legislation that became law and requires the use of E-Verify by construction industry employers to screen out job applicants who are not legally eligible to work in the U.S. He also served on the Pennsylvania Public School Building Construction and Reconstruction Advisory Committee, represents the House of Representatives on the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Board, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Economic Development Financing Authority. Prior to his 2012 election to the General Assembly, Mackenzie served as policy director at the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry and worked at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C.
