Thousands of spectators young and old enjoyed colorful floats, bands and marchers during the 2021 Allentown Halloween Parade.

The parade, established in 1905 and believed to be one of the oldest in the nation, resumed its march down Hamilton Street on Saturday, October 9 after a year’s absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The theme of “Fall in the City” brought out an enthusiastic crowd to watch six complete divisions, including giant character balloons and 55 groups with a rich array of cultural flare.

Children along the parade route received winter hats & gloves from City Hope, toothbrushes from Star Health Wellness, apples from the Allentown Health Bureau, candy, and Halloween treats, and 54 families received gift cards for a meal in downtown Allentown, sponsored by the City of Allentown & Allentown Chamber of Commerce.

A panel of judges evaluated participants in two categories: Floats and Marchers. Judging criteria included presentation, creativity, enthusiasm, and fitting the theme. Winners receive monetary prizes.

1st Place     Puertorrican Culture Preservation Inc.
