Lamont McClure and the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) announce that County Council approved $1 million in grants for 24 EMS/Fire departments at their meeting on October 7th. This was the second round of EMS grants Northampton County has awarded. The County funded 13 projects with $80,000 in 2020 using Local Share Table Games Revenue.
“Our fire departments and EMS organizations are critical to protecting public health and safety,” says Lamont McClure. “These grants help supply our first responders with the tools and equipment they need to serve the people of Northampton County.”
EMS grants are available to Northampton County professional, volunteer fire and non-profit emergency medical service organizations. They can be used for capital improvements, vehicle purchase, equipment purchase and training. Eligible organizations can apply for up to $50,000 per application or project.
