Newly created role will help drive awareness of AEDC’s mission.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. —January 27, 2020 — Allentown Economic Development Corporation welcomes Erin M. Hudson in a newly created position as Marketing and Communications Specialist. Hudson joined AEDC in early January. She brings over 10 years of marketing, communications and sales experience.  Hudson’s role will be to implement AEDC’s marketing strategy and bring awareness to the organization’s three main programs: The Bridgeworks Enterprise Center, Urban Made and Urban Sites. The programs focus on business incubation and mentoring for manufacturing startups, strengthening urban manufacturing through loan programs and support, and property rehabilitation and management.

“For 40 years AEDC has been successfully redeveloping the city’s most challenging sites,” said AEDC Executive Director, Scott Unger. “Erin’s addition to the team now allows us to build awareness around the organization’s efforts and core initiatives. We are looking forward to having her expertise in bringing attention to the significance of AEDC and its impact on the community,” said Unger.

“I am thrilled to join the dedicated staff at AEDC,” said Hudson. “I support the organization’s goals and I believe in its mission. By repurposing industrial properties, AEDC attracts manufacturers and entrepreneurs who create employment opportunities in the city. Ultimately, AEDC improves quality of life and strengthens our community. The organization has an incredible story to share, with exciting opportunities ahead. I’m eager to get that message out.”

Prior to joining AEDC, Hudson worked as the marketing coordinator for the Bar Association of Lehigh County, a membership organization with over 700 attorneys and judges. Hudson worked at the association’s office on West Walnut Street in downtown Allentown for eight years, where she coordinated membership programs, the Lehigh Law Journal publication and the Lawyer Referral Service. She also developed and lead a rebranding campaign for the Bar Association’s public event venue, The Barristers Club. Before association work, Hudson was in outside sales for Konica Minolta, a provider of workplace technology and software solutions. A graduate of West Virginia University, Hudson received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Advertising. She currently resides in Allentown’s West End neighborhood.

“I am a Lehigh Valley transplant, having moved here from Pittsburgh almost 10 years ago, but I have a deep sense of belonging to this community and pride in the revitalization of the city. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Allentown.”
