Three time Olympian Adds Racing and Industry Expertise to Board
BREINIGSVILLE, Pennsylvania, January 21, 2020: The Valley Preferred Cycling Center, also known to track enthusiasts around the globe as T-Town, announced three-time Olympic cyclist Bobby Lea has joined their Board of Directors effective January 1, 2020.
Lea, who represented the US at the Beijing, London and Rio Olympic Games said, “this feels like a homecoming of sorts. I learned how to ride a fixed gear bicycle at what was then the Lehigh County Velodrome, honed my racing skills here, and used it as my home base while preparing for all three of my Olympic appearances. I’ve seen a lot of changes take place over my nearly 30 years of racing here, and I’m excited to build on the history of this storied facility and help it thrive in the new landscape of cycling.”
Lea is currently employed as a gear editor at Bicycling Magazine.
The Valley Preferred Cycling Center’s Executive Director Joan Hanscom said, “ I am looking forward to working with Bobby this season and beyond. In addition to his long and impressive career on the track, his appreciation for fun and growing community is key to our continued development as a valuable resource for cyclists of all ages and abilities in the Lehigh Valley. His position at Bicycling also keeps him connected to current state of the sport and the industry -incredibly important to us as we work to remain relevant and vital in the rapidly changing sport of cycling.”
