PBS39 Names New Scholastic Scrimmage Host for 46th Season

Media professional David Graf, a former contestant, will host and moderate the longest running program on PBS39.

Bethlehem, PA. – October 29, 2019 – PBS39, an entity of Lehigh Valley Public Media, named David Graf as the host of the 46th season of Scholastic Scrimmage, a televised academic quiz show for high schools in the region. Graf is a former contestant, having competed on the show in 2001 for Pen Argyl Area High School.

“We’re excited to welcome David as our host for this season,” said Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh Valley Public Media. “His enthusiasm for Scholastic Scrimmage and its mission makes him a valuable asset to the show.”

Graf has been a media professional for more than 13 years, producing content for six years for Rodale’s Runner’s World Magazine, Bicycling Magazine, Prevention, and Organic Life. His work has also appeared on NBC’s Today Show, HBO’s Real Sports, Cheddar, ESPN.com, Access Hollywood, RunDisney, and CBS’s The Doctors. Currently, he is the Creative Producer for Reeb®. Graf holds an MBA from Cedar Crest College and a bachelor’s degree in Digital Media and Broadcast Production from Marywood University.

“I’m thrilled to be the host for this season of Scholastic Scrimmage,” said Graf. “I love that the competition highlights schools of all sizes from across the region in a challenging show of academic prowess.”

The show will feature more than 130 students from 29 area high schools. At the end of the season, the top two schools win cash prizes for their schools, provided by program partner grants. The first place school receives $4,000 and the second place school receives $2,000 for their scholarship funds.
