Ruth Behler Receives Honorary Diploma from Palmerton High School
(Allentown, PA)- Ruth Behler knows it’s never too late for a dream to come true. Ruth Behler, a resident of Cedarbrook Fountain Hill, celebrated her 100th birthday recently and received her high school diploma.
Behler, who grew up during the Great Depression had to drop out of school in order to work and support her family. It remained her greatest regret in life, but fortunately the Cedarbrook Dream Catchers, the Cedarbrook Fountain Hill chapter of the Second Wind Dreams charity was ready to act.
Second Wind Dreams, an international organization that specializes in granting senior wishes, has a local chapter at each Cedarbrook campus comprised of current and prior employees.
Dream Catchers contacted Palmerton High School, and the principal proudly presented her with an honorary diploma capping off her 100th birthday.
Ruth said she was extremely honored to receive her diploma and grateful for the assistance of Second Wind Dreams. When asked the secret to a long and healthy life, she said “work hard and keep going”.
