AMERICAN RED CROSS, Bethlehem seeks volunteers for the “SOUND THE ALARM” Campaign on Saturday, September 28. Meet at the Bethlehem Fire Dept., 2412 Easton Ave. no later than 8:30am.  Install free smoke alarms and share fire safety tips. Everything provided-equipment, supplies, training, even breakfast and lunch. No experience needed. Volunteers must be 13 years or older. Pre-registration requested to ensure enough food & supplies. BETHLEHEM SPECIAL OLYMPICS needs volunteers to work with Rhythmic Gymnastics athletes as they learn skills and routines. Weekly practices on Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm. Competitions on some weekends in the spring. Volunteers to work with Artistic Gymnastics athletes are also needed for male and female gymnasts of varied ages and abilities. CEDARBROOK SENIOR CARE AND REHAB, Allentown has a volunteer opportunity in their Gift Shop for a cheerful person who likes helping others shop for snacks and gift items, Volunteer every Thursday from 12:30-3:30pm. Residents love buying snacks, décor items and gifts as do family members, guests, and staff. COMMUNITY BIKE WORKS, Allentown needs instructors for their Earn-a-Bike program at their East Side facility. This program teaches students (ages 9-17) basic bike mechanics and safety over a 12-week course. It is a 6-8pm commitment one night a week. No mechanical experience necessary. Mentors aid students as they fix their bike and learn communication and teamwork skills. Upon course completion, students earn their refurbished bike and a new helmet. HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS program needs volunteers to join the “Shoebox Squad.” Collect shoeboxes from local shoe stores and bring them to our office for wrapping. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksvile needs volunteers (adult supervision for 10-13 years) for “Boo at the Zoo,” a Trick or Treating Event. Four event dates: Saturday, October 19; Sunday, October 20; Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27 from 9:45am-3:45pm on all dates.
