Butz Family of Companies Announces Several Employee Promotions in Construction Project Management

The Butz Family of Companies, consisting of Alexander (Harrisburg/State College), Alvin H. Butz (Lehigh Valley), and Shoemaker Construction (Conshohocken) is pleased to announce key promotions, reflecting our commitment to leadership development and excellence in construction services.

Emily Lowe promoted to Director of Lean.

Emily Lowe

Emily joined us in 2018 and her passion for Lean was evident from the start. Since then, she has integrated herself into more than 25 project teams, presented to 14 clients, and continues to provide bi-monthly training to four of our major owners, establishing Butz as the regional leader in Lean construction practices. In 2022, Emily became the second person (and the first woman) in the country to earn the Lean Construction Institute’s (LCI) Certified Practitioner in Construction certification. She has also achieved several other certifications, including the LCI Certified Practitioner in Design, Associated General Contractors-CM Lean, AGC CM-Lean Lead Instructor, Predictive Index (PI) Talent Optimization Leader, PI Engagement and Productivity, PI Team Performance, and PI Leadership and Management certifications. She is a nationally recognized leader in Lean practices and has been invited to speak at numerous venues. Her contributions have advanced teams, set us apart, improved project delivery, and helped secure large projects, including two recent Integrated Project Delivery projects. Emily is a graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College with a degree in Communications.

Justin Seltzer promoted to Senior Project Manager.

Justin Seltzer

Justin started with Alexander in 2017 as a Project Engineer after working for a national builder in Virginia and was promoted to Project Manager in 2020. He is currently working on the Penn State University Capital Systems Renewal Project and serves on the board of Habitat
for Humanity of Greater Centre County and the Penn State Altoona Alumni Board. Justin consistently demonstrates the ability to lead teams to success and has earned the respect of the clients and colleagues he works with. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State University.

Christie Hurley promoted to Senior Project Manager.

Christie came to Alvin H. Butz in 2019 after working for a national builder in Washington, DC. Christie actively leads and develops her projects and teams. She excels in developing strong relationships with current and newly obtained clients, such as Lehigh Valley Academy RCS and Lehigh Valley Health Network. Christie seeks out challenging and creative projects with the opportunity to grow and work in a cohesive group environment. She is an active member of CREW Lehigh Valley. Christie is a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Construction Management.

Chris Stout promoted to Senior Project Manager.

Chris Stout

Chris started as an intern with Alexander in 2015 and was hired full-time as a Project Engineer in 2018. He was promoted to Project Manager in 2020 and is currently working on the Penn State University Beaver Stadium Revitalization project. Chris serves on the Emmanuel Lutheran Church building committee and is involved with ACE Mentor Program. He has a strong background in project management and has provided exceptional leadership, consistently delivering projects on time and within budget. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the Pennsylvania College of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Penn State University.

Mark Yatcilla promoted to Senior Project Manager.

Mark Yatcilla

Mark came to Alvin H. Butz in 2022 with more than 20 years of experience working for multiple commercial builders in Eastern PA. He is actively involved in the community by mentoring Penn State Civil Engineering students and serving on the North Whitehall Township Farmland Preservation Board. Mark brings enthusiasm, attention to detail and experience to our project teams. His dedication and drive to please the client has been well recognized by the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, For Pete’s Sake, Penn Medicine, among others, and is key to his success. Mark is a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Andre Camayd promoted to Project Manager.

Andre Camayd

Andre started with Alvin H. Butz in 2022 after working various positions in the construction industry including as a cost estimator. Andre brings a broad skill set to all projects he works on. With his extensive estimating experience and an increasing skill set in cost management, Andre continues to develop into a very well-rounded member of the team. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Scranton.

Chad Ray promoted to Project Manager.

Chad started as an intern with Alexander in 2021 and was hired as a full-time Project Engineer in May of 2022. He is currently working on the WellSpan Gettysburg projects. He has provided significant value to his projects by showing a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities to help his teams succeed. Chad holds a bachelor’s in Construction Management from Millersville University.

Anthony Zocco promoted to Senior Project Engineer.

Anthony Zocco

Anthony started as an intern with Alexander in 2019 and was hired as a Project Engineer in 2021 when he graduated from Penn State University. He is currently working on the Penn State University Capital Systems Renewal project. While continuing to hone his project engineering skills, Anthony shows increased leadership responsibilities daily on an extensive and complicated project. He obtained a bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering from Penn State University.

Scott Bucher promoted to Superintendent.

Scott Bucher

Scott started with Alexander in 2019 as a Carpenter Foreman and has more than 26 years of industry experience. He is currently running the FNB Field project for the City of Harrisburg. He has been an asset to several projects as a Carpenter Foreman in both State College and Harrisburg leading crews and subcontractors successfully in his capacity. As Superintendent, he will be actively involved in every aspect of the construction process.
