Allentown, PA – Step into a winter wonderland as the Chamber, the Downtown Allentown Business Alliance, and the City of Allentown light up the city with holiday magic! We invite you to be a part of the joyful and unforgettable celebration powered by PPL on Saturday, December 7th, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at The Allentown Arts Park. This FREE and open-to-the-public holiday extravaganza will be the perfect way for families, friends, and neighbors to create lasting memories together.

From the warmth of festive live performances by the Allentown School District to the glow of cozy fire pits perfect for making s’mores, this event will capture the true essence of the season. Guests can share their holiday wishes with Santa and Mrs. Claus, while everyone enjoys complimentary hot chocolate, cookies, giveaways, and a variety of holiday activities for all ages. Santa will arrive on a PPL all-electric F150 to kick off the celebrations.

The Lehigh Valley Marine Corp. Toys for Tots will be in attendance to donate and distribute toys to the children. (Toys are available on a first-come, first-served basis.) Find yourself in the spirit of the holidays with an appearance from the Allentown Symphony Nutcrackers while indulging in seasonal treats from local food vendors.

Guests will have the opportunity to decorate Christmas cookies for free with “Well Hello Cookie,” adding a sweet personal touch to the experience. A new highlight for this year is the LANTA Express experience – all aboard a stationary LANTA bus decked out in full holiday cheer, with special performances by the Conductor —a magical journey making you feel like you are immersed in your favorite holiday movie!

Leading up to the 2024 event, the Downtown Allentown Business Alliance, along with PPL, is hosting an essay competition. The winner of the competition will be selected to countdown to the tree lighting with the City, the School District, and PPL Leadership. The topic of the essay is “Why Do You Love Allentown?’ The competition is open to all 5th graders in the Allentown School District.

This holiday celebration is the perfect opportunity to spread joy and create cherished moments with your loved ones. Join us as we transform Allentown into a magical holiday destination, and help us fill the city with holiday spirit and cheer!
