Bethlehem, PA (October 31, 2024) – Valley Youth House’s Annual Lehigh Valley Setting the Stage event raised $324,195 to support youth in the Greater Lehigh Valley region. Guests enjoyed a reception and an uplifting program, with community leaders delivering impactful remarks that underscored the agency’s essential work in empowering young people across Pennsylvania.

Lee & Dolly Butz and Alvin H. Butz, Inc. were recognized as the event’s Distinguished Honorees. Event Chairs Mike Butz of Alvin H. Butz, Inc., Laurie Hackett of Air Products, David M. Jaindl of Jaindl Companies, L. Charles Marcon of Duggan and Marcon, Inc., and Kim Rompilla of Crayola, were also recognized for their leadership.

Chaunice Holley, BSN, RN, Retired United States Air Force and Mrs. Pennsylvania America 2023, delivered an inspiring speech about her journey from adversity to achievement. Holley spoke of the support she found at Valley Youth House, which helped her embrace new opportunities and pursue her dreams. Reflecting on her path, she emphasized the value of shifting one’s outlook, saying, “Perspective is everything—it’s the lens through which we see our circumstances, and changing that lens can change your whole life.” Her story resonated with attendees as a powerful testament to transformation, hope, and the lasting impact of Valley Youth House’s support.

“We are honored to be able to recognize Lee & Dolly Butz, who have served as pillars and role models in our community for decades. Because of the support of people like Lee & Dolly, Valley Youth House has the ability to have a positive impact on the lives of some of our community’s most vulnerable youth,” said Tom Harrington, President and Executive Director of Valley Youth House. “In times like this, when youth homelessness and youth mental health issues are increasing, it’s heartwarming to see the support of so many people and companies come to the aid of these young people,” he added.

After the reception, guests enjoyed the Duran Duran concert at the PPL Center.

Setting the Stage is Valley Youth House’s signature fundraising event, celebrating the transformative impact supporters have on the lives of vulnerable individuals in the Greater Lehigh Valley region. All proceeds from this event will benefit the life-changing programs and services provided to youth and families served by Valley Youth House.
