Bethlehem, Lehigh Valley, PA., October 16, 2024 – ArtsQuest, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts (PCA), is thrilled to celebrate the new Northside Alive Community Mural created by ArtsQuest rostered teaching artist and muralist, Matt Halm.

“ArtsQuest is thrilled to support this project through our PCA Artist Residency partnership. The mural was truly a community collaboration,” says Joanne Garcia, ArtsQuest Manager of Education & PCA Programs. “Northside Alive and Matt Halm, the artist, took the time to involve the community at different events, beginning with the community feedback meeting at the YMCA back in February. We are excited to finally unveil the mural for everyone to enjoy.”

All are invited to join us on Sunday, October 20 at 2 p.m. at the Lehigh & Keystone Valley Model Railroad Museum for a small ceremony to celebrate this beautiful mural and thank the artist, our partners/sponsors and the community.

The Railroad Museum will be open from 1p.m. to 5 p.m., so make sure to stop in and check out the 5,000 sq ft layout depicting the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. Admission is $8, children 12 and under are free. It is recommended that you purchase tickets in advance here. Tickets will be available at the door, but you may have to wait to enter the display.

BRING YOUR BIKES: Bike to the event and enjoy a family-friendly Northside Alive neighborhood ride after the celebration led by our friends from the Coalition for Appropriate Transportation!

This mural is made possible through ArtsQuest Arts in Education partnership through the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
