HARRISBURG, Sept. 30 – State Rep. Jeanne McNeill announced today she has been appointed majority chair of the PA House Children and Youth Committee.

“It is an honor to be named the chair of the House Children and Youth Committee allowing me the opportunity to continue to fight for the maximization of our future leaders’ experiences,” said McNeill. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on this committee to give pieces of legislation the time of day to work toward a better future for children across the commonwealth.”

Speaker of the House Joanna McClinton said:

“Rep. McNeill is a champion for Pennsylvania’s youngest residents. Having spent more than a decade as an educator and an advocate for children and families, she will leverage her experience as chair of the Children and Youth Committee and advance legislation to help all of the commonwealth’s children.”

The House Children and Youth Committee has the responsibility to study adoption and child protection issues, along with child day care services, infant/child/mother health issues, juvenile delinquency, and adolescent and teen problems.

McNeill, who was chair of the Northeast Delegation, has resigned that position to give her full attention to her duties as chair of the Children and Youth Committee.
