Lehigh County 4-H Members Shine at the Great Allentown Fair

Allentown, PA — [August 28 – September 2] — Lehigh County 4-H is proud to announce that several members of the Lehigh County Livestock Club received high awards at this year’s Great Allentown Fair, showcasing their hard work and dedication to their livestock. The Lehigh County Livestock Club members have been actively involved in the care, feeding, training, and grooming of their animals, learning valuable life skills. These life skills and experiences prepare the 4-H’ers for future careers within and outside of agriculture.

The Grand Champion Market Lamb was shown by Samuel Lazarus of Schnecksville and purchased by Fulton Bank and Lehigh County Agricultural Society for $700. The Grand Champion Market Goat was shown by Levi Lazarus of Schnecksville and purchased by Fulton Bank and Lehigh County Agricultural Society for $750. The Grand Champion Market Hog was shown by Katniss Lazarus of Germansville, a first year 4-H member, and purchased by Leesport Farmers Market and Springfield Meats for $1550. The champion Market Beef was shown by Ethan Brozman of Nazareth and purchased by Bell and Evans and Mr. Bills Chicken for $4100. The Grand Champion Dairy Beef was shown by Jonas Geiger of Schnecksville, finishing his last year of 4-H, and purchased by Geiger Family Farm for $2500. Our 4-H members thank all our buyers at this year’s sale!
