Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to be held on September 25

Bethlehem, PA, September 20, 2024 – The Junior League of the Lehigh Valley (JLLVPA) will host an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, September 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the Perfect Fit for Working Women to celebrate the grand opening of the newly renovated personal care pantry. The Perfect Fit is the signature project of the Allentown YWCA. A long-standing partner of the JLLVPA, the Perfect Fit prepares under-resourced women entering the workforce by providing professional clothing for job interviews and the first week of work. In tandem with that, the pantry makes personal care products, such as shampoo, soap, and feminine hygiene products, available to meet the needs of these women. Over the past year, Sustainers and New Members of the JLLVPA worked together to remodel the pantry to create an inviting, organized space within the Perfect Fit boutique.

The Junior League was instrumental in the creation of the Perfect Fit back in 2000, and to this day, members continue to regularly volunteer with and support the organization. Since its inception, the Perfect Fit has served more than 12,000 women, referred by more than 50 social service partners in the Lehigh Valley and helps more than 500 women each year to find professional clothing to ace their job interviews.

The September 25 event will include an open house tour of the boutique, and resale shop along with a ribbon cutting ceremony and remarks by Sarah E. Barrett, Executive Director, YWCA; and Jennifer McGrath, Sustainer, JLLVPA.
