HARRISBURG, July 23 – Pennsylvania House Education Committee Majority Chairman, Peter Schweyer, today issued the following statement on the announcement of PASSHE Chancellor Dr. Dan Greenstein stepping down.
“Since becoming the Chair of the House Education Committee, Dr. Greenstein and I have enjoyed a positive working relationship working on behalf of the students, faculty and the member institutions. His input was especially helpful as we crafted a series of new and quite significant higher education policies during this budget season. I genuinely appreciate his help and wish him the best on his future endeavors.
“To the current and future students enrolled in PASSHE schools, please know that as Chair of the House Education Committee, I remain fully committed to the stability and future success of these tremendous schools. Dr. Greenstein’s recent announcement will be met with our resolve to work with University Presidents, faculty leaders and others to ensure a smooth transition with little to no impact on you, the students.”
Schweyer represents the 134th Legislative District which serves a portion of the city of Allentown, all of Emmaus Borough and a portion of Salisbury Township in Lehigh County.
