Since 1921, the Dixie Cup Factory has been an iconic fixture within Northampton County. However, the building has remained vacant for the past 41 years.
“It is now or never to get something done. The County has long been engaged in efforts to revitalize this historic site. We’ve seen proposal after proposal, and for the first time, we’ve never gotten this close to a project that benefits the community like the 1921 at Dixie Avenue project,” says County Executive Lamont G. McClure. “This proposed project isn’t just about salvaging an old factory. It’s about embracing sustainability while honoring the building’s architectural legacy. Waiting another 41 years is not an option if we wish to preserve the building’s structure.”
The power to advance this project is now in the hands of Northampton County Council.
