Wildlands Conservancy – Fall 2023 Photography Contest – until Nov.30, 11:59pm ESTat any of Wildlands Conservancy’s 14 Nature Preserves. Entries of all categories: landscapes, macro, fauna, flora, family and friends, are invited. Your subject can be anything, as long as it is appropriate and falls under the nature category. Wildlands Conservancy – You & Me at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary: Happy Campers – 9:30 am – 11:00 am at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, PA 18049. You & Me” is a program for children aged 3-5 and their grown-ups. This month: A base camp experience complete with stories, songs, hot chocolate, and live animals. Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Wild in the Parks! Woof Walk – 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Cedar Beach Park, 2600 Parkway Blvd.,

Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! for Wellness: Bears Rocks & Bake Oven Knob – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Bears’ Rocks & Bake Oven Knob, 373 Bake Oven Knob Road, Germansville, PA 18053. This is a great place for watching migrating hawks and other birds, especially at this time of year. The hike is appropriate for children over 4. Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! for Wellness: South Mountain 28th St Entrance – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at South Mountain 28th Street Entrance, 2731 28th SW Allentown, PA 18103. This hike takes us over and around some amazing rock formations & old quarries. Our route goes up South Mountain via switchbacks for good views of south Allentown and the Blue Ridge. Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Wildlife of the Watershed: Owls & Hoot Hike – 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, PA 18049. Learn about owl adaptations, natural history, and local species while meeting some live education owls; then hike outside to observe them in the wild. Program questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! for Wellness: Wildlands’ Thomas Darling Preserve – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Thomas Darling Preserve, Burger Rd., Blakeslee, PA 18610. This groundwater-fed glacial wetland has one of the state’s largest and healthiest spruce forests. The 2-mile easy hike is partly on a boardwalk through a bog. Questions?
