BETHLEHEM, PA – Applications for Northampton Community College’s (NCC) 2024 Luthier Certification Program at the NCC Martin Guitar Foundation Luthier Lab are now open! This two-semester comprehensive, challenging, and fulfilling program encompasses all aspects of guitar building from basic woodworking skills to custom-designed bodies.
The program is crafted to ensure you master the skills and knowledge needed to be a successful Luthier and includes seven (7) stringed instrument builds: Martin Style Parlor, Martin Style OM, Tenor Ukulele, Flat-Top Electric, Carved Top Electric, Archtop and a custom Acoustic designed by the student. Also included in the program are supplementary classes in heel carving, inlay and 3D modeling for custom neck and body designs, Small Business Management & Entrepreneurship Certificate and the OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Training which will not only strengthen your skillset as a Luthier but will help you stand out among employers and/or clients.
