LOWER MOUNT BETHEL, PA – Today, Congresswoman Susan Wild joined Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure for a visit to Northampton communities experiencing severe damage from flash flooding earlier this month. In Lower Mount Bethel Township and Forks Township, Rep. Wild spoke with local and county officials and residents, emphasizing her commitment to doing all she can to bring federal assistance home to Northampton.

“I am thinking of everyone impacted by this devastating flooding—from our neighbors in Forks Township and Lower Mount Bethel Township, to those in Bangor and Washington Township, and every community in between,” said Congresswoman Susan Wild. “As we continue damage assessment and begin the process of rebuilding, I will do all I can to deliver federal assistance and will stay in close contact with municipal and county leaders about their communities’ needs. I want to wish a special thank you to the emergency management personnel and first responders working around the clock to keep us safe during and in the aftermath of the flooding.”

Rep. Wild visited Forks Township and Martin’s Creek in Lower Mount Bethel Township on Monday afternoon, where she spoke with local and county elected officials and residents, reaffirming her commitment to bringing federal assistance to impacted communities.

Northampton County Emergency Management Services reported that latest flooding damages are estimated to total between $5.5 million and $6 million, with assessments ongoing. Residents and homeowners affected have been advised to report damages through this questionnaire to ensure that the county can send detailed, accurate damage reports to PEMA and FEMA. Additionally, a Crisis Clean-Up Hotline has been established—reachable by calling 844-965-1386—to connect those affected with information and assistance.
