Lehigh Valley Leaders Stayed Committed to Raising Funds for Nonprofit’s Support of Trafficking Survivors
Once the rain began to fall, golfers moved inside for an honorary speaker, informational program and award presentation, all based on the nonprofit’s commitment to women survivors of sex trafficking. June 26, 2023, LEHIGH VALLEY, PA – Bloom for Women, a Lehigh Valley-based nonprofit dedicated to providing housing and resources to women survivors of sex trafficking, hosted its annual golf fundraiser today, showcasing unwavering commitment despite inclement weather. The event, reimagined inside Brookside’s indoor Clubhouse, featured a poignant survivor story from “Sam,” a graduate of Bloom’s two-year residential survivor program, along with donor recognition and an award presentation.
Laurie Hackett of Air Products served as the Honorary Chair, while Chris Brandt of Service Electric Network took on the role of Committee Chair. The event received overwhelming support from several Lehigh Valley businesses and community leaders, who united to back Bloom’s crucial mission of aiding victims of sex trafficking through essential funding.
Bloom for Women, Inc. is a faith-based nonprofit organization that strives to provide sanctuary and comprehensive care to heal, empower, and employ women survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Their services encompass emergency response, a two-year residential program, pregnant survivor support, and an independent living program in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. Inspired by the remarkable success of Thistle Farms Nashville program, Bloom follows a similar model and acts as a sister community. Additionally, the Bloom Creative Studio, located in Bangor, Pa., leverages art as a healing tool and offers employment opportunities to survivors. Bloom also operates My Sister’s Closet, an upscale resale boutique in Bethlehem, Pa., which provides employment opportunities, volunteer roles, and financial support for the organization.
