Lehigh Valley, Pa, Lehigh County 4-H will be offering four exciting day camps this summer. Camps include Archery, Cooking, a Cloverbud camp, and a “What on Earth?” agricultural exploration camp. Registration is currently open for all day camps and will close 15 days prior to the start date of each camp. The summer camps will take place at Lehigh County Agricultural Center, 4184 Dorney Park Road, Allentown, PA 18104. See below for details on these valuable opportunities.
Archery: This day camp is for youth between the ages of 8-18 (age as of January 1, 2023). Youth are invited to join us for a three-day beginner’s introduction to archery. Our knowledgeable instructors will collaborate with you to instill the basics and develop your confidence and competence on the range, creating a solid foundation of knowledge and skill that will allow you to progress in this exciting sport. All the equipment is supplied to help you get started. If you have your own equipment, you can bring to use. Learn about safety, teamwork, marksmanship, and more. Registrants can select which session they want to attend. Both sessions will be Monday, July 10 thru Wednesday July 12. Session 1 is from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm and Session 2 is 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm., at the Lehigh County Agricultural Center. We will do our best to honor session requests but not guaranteed.
The cost for registration is $50 per camper, which includes instruction time with certified archery instructors and the use of archery equipment. All participants should bring closed-toed shoes and a hair tie to tie back any long hair if necessary. Only ten registrants per session and is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. Limited spots are still available. When the camp is full, youth can register to the camp waitlist. Pre-registration to attend this event by June 25.

Cloverbud: Take part in a fun-filled half-day with games and activities for our youngest 4-H kiddos, youth ages 5-9 (age as of January 1, 2023). Youth will have plenty of fun exploring various 4-H areas while making new friends. The camp is Thursday, July 13, at the Lehigh County Agricultural Center. This camp begins at 9:00 am and concludes at 12:00 Noon. Participants will be provided with a snack. Current 4-H members can attend the program for free. Only ten registrants per session and is based on a first-come first-serve basis. Limited spots are still available. Pre-registration to attend the event by June 28.

Cooking: If you enjoy cooking and food and are between the ages of 8-18 (as of January 1, 2023), the cooking camp is for you! Participate in person with the statewide virtual camp while we gain understanding in healthy food choices, proper cooking techniques, and food safety. Learn more about kitchen tools, proper measuring, how to write a recipe, and compete in a Recipe Challenge. Take part in a different recipe every day with things like jumbo breakfast cookies, tuna burgers, bread in a bag, and more!
The camp will be held on July 17–21 at the Lehigh County Agricultural Center. We will begin at 8:45 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m. The registration cost for the camp is $20. The registration fee covers all materials for workshop activities. Campers must wear closed-toe shoes and may bring an apron to protect their clothes. Limited registration to ten registrants and is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration to attend the event by July 2.

What on Earth? Where does the food on your plate come from? Youth between the ages of 8-18 (age as of Jan 1, 2023) are welcome to come explore the answers to this question and more as we dive into the world of agriculture. Join us for hands-on activities and learning as we become agricultural explorers!
The camp will take place on Tuesday, August 15, at the Lehigh County Agricultural Center. We will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 3:00 pm. The registration cost for the camp is $10. The registration fee covers all materials for workshop activities and snacks. Campers must bring a packed lunch. Limited registration to twenty-five registrants and is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. Pre-registration to attend the event by July 31.
Youth can register to the camp waitlist if the camp is full. All camps will take place at the Lehigh County Agricultural Center. Further information will be provided with registrants closer to the time of the specific camp. In addition to the price of the day camp, there will be a $30 4-H enrollment fee for youth who are not members.
