Lehigh Valley, PA – May 4, 2023, To celebrate Foster Care Awareness Month, Pinebrook Family Answers will be hosting a Community Block Party on May 20th from 11 am to 2 pm on their campus at 402 North Fulton Street in Allentown. Partner community organizations such as The Allentown Police Department, Community Bike Works, Community Services for Children, The Kindness Project, and Miller Keystone Blood Center will also be participating with information and activities for families. The Block Party is made possible through a grant from the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN).
May is National Foster Care Month, a time to acknowledge foster parents, family members, volunteers, mentors, policymakers, child welfare professionals, and other members of the community who help children and youth in foster care find permanent homes and connections. Children are in foster care because they or their families are going through a crisis. Often these children—from babies to teens—have been removed from their parents because they are unsafe, abused or neglected. Foster families play a vital role in helping children and families heal, reconnect, and find permanency, Foster parents provide the love, safety, and stability that children need in order to overcome past traumatic experiences so that they can reach their full potential. Pinebrook Family Answers has been providing foster care services for over forty years, with a variety of programs to meet the individual needs of children requiring out-of-home placement, and their families.
