The nonprofit’s Board of Directors ushers five members into new leadership positions.
Allentown, PA (February 22, 2023) – Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania (CISEasternPA) is pleased to announce its new slate of officers from the Board of Directors, with the appointment of Michelle Schmidt, Ph.D., Karianne Gelinas, Raymon Williams, Michael Zile, and Tyler Papaz.
Michelle Schmidt, Ph.D., is CISEasternPA’s new board chair. She has served on the CIS board since 2019, participating in the Community Relations Committee, the 40th Anniversary Committee, and the new Strategic Plan Committee. Schmidt works at Moravian University as a professor of Psychology and the director of Academic Leadership Programs.
Karianne Gelinas has served on the CISEasternPA Board of Directors since 2020 and is the new vice chair. On the board, she is part of the Executive Talent and Strategic Plan Committees. Gelinas is vice president of strategic initiatives and research at Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation.
Raymon Williams serves as CISEasternPA’s new board secretary. He joined the board in 2022 and is on the Executive and Programming Committees. Williams is the deputy director of green hydrogen projects at Air Products.
Michael Zile will remain as board treasurer. He has been on the board since 2018 as part of the Executive Committee and chair of the Finance Committee. He works at M&T Bank as a commercial senior relationship manager and senior vice president.
Tyler Papaz remains on the board as the immediate past chair. A senior consultant at Cornerstone Advisors Asset Management, LLC and board member since 2014, he was previously board chair and sits on the Executive and Finance Committees.
“Our Board of Directors is a crucial part of our organization’s success, so my colleagues and I are excited to start working with our new officers during our 40th Anniversary year,” says CISEasternPA President and CEO Tim Mulligan. “Dr. Michelle Schmidt will be an incredible board leader, and I do not doubt that each officer’s expertise & passion for our cause will help to grow our influence in the Lehigh Valley and Berks County.”
