The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, is gearing up for a memorable 2022 holiday season!
Santa Claus is scheduled to return to New Tripoli a little early this year, kicking off the holiday season on December 4th in Ontelaunee Park! Returning for its second year, the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Heidelberg and Lynn Townships and the Honey Done List Co. for the 2nd Annual Northwestern Lehigh Tree Lighting Ceremony.
“Last year’s inaugural event was a huge success, and we could not be more pleased to be back at Ontelaunee for a second astounding year,” said Kylie Adams-Weiss, Assistant Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “Our partnership with Heidelberg and Lynn Townships, as well as the entire Northwestern Lehigh community at large, has created a holiday celebration like no other.”
The event will take place on December 4, 2022 from 4:30-7:30 PM and is free and open to the public. As in its first year, the event will feature festive holiday performances from Northwestern Lehigh and Weisenberg elementary school choruses and dance groups from Rhythm and Sole, with an expanded schedule to include Olivia & the New Life Drum Circle and the Ebenezer Church Choir Carolers.
Prior to the official start of the event, the Lynn-Heidelberg Historical Society will be open for tours of their buildings within Ontelaunee Park from 2:00-5:00 PM.
A vendor market will take place in the lower pavilion with crafters, nonprofits and local businesses with goods for sale for holiday shopping; the upper pavilion will host a variety of food samples (including soup samples from Curious Goods at the Bake Oven Inn, hotdogs and hot chocolate), giveaway items at the Chamber Booth, and a holiday DJ. Throughout the evening, attendees will have the opportunity to partake in cash pony rides (sponsored by Heintzelman Funeral Homes – Schnecksville and Venture Farms), as well as take photos with Frozen’s Elsa, Ana and Olaf. Santa Claus himself will make an appearance, too.
In addition to the Tree Lighting festivities, the event will also host a food drive. “It is crucial that we open our hearts to those in need all year long,” said Jessica O’Donnell-Gower, Executive Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “The holidays remind us that the spirit of giving is alive and well, and the Chamber likes to ensure that we are helping others in the community.” This year’s food drive will collect canned goods and nonperishable items for the Lowhill Food Pantry.
“The Greater Northern Lehigh chamber has a long history of Christmas Tree Lighting events,” said Andy Gildner, Chair of the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce and owner of Keystone Technology LLC. “Last year’s inaugural event was an exciting success, and we look forward to continue to grow this tradition in Northwestern Lehigh.”
