In observance of Veterans Day, the City of Allentown is honoring its Hometown Heroes with a ceremony on Friday, November 11 at 1:00 p.m. at the flagpole in Cedar Beach Park.
The Allentown Hometown Heroes Banner Program is a living tribute created for the community to recognize and honor our Allentown veterans who have served our country in the United States Armed Forces.
The banners are displayed from the month of May through Veterans Day in in observance of all Military Branch birthdays.
On Friday, the banners will be removed and stored until the same period in 2023, at which time they will be re-displayed.
The City of Allentown has invited our Hometown Heroes and their friends and family, and also invite local veterans and the community to a brief ceremony where the Allentown Police Department Honor Guard will present the colors and perform a rifle salute, and a bugler will play Taps prior to the removal of the banners.
