EASTON, PA – September 22, 2022 – Road construction in Easton’s Centre Square won’t stop Easton Garlic Fest from bringing the stink for its nineteenth year on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2.  A family-friendly event, it is free to attend from 10 am – 6 pm both days, rain or shine. This year’s Headline Chef is Karnail Singh of Tandoor Grill in downtown Easton. Highlights include:

• 3 Mayors Cook-off (Saturday at 1 pm at the Stinkin’ Culinary Stage) – Easton Mayor Sal Panto will partner with Easton Garlic Fest Headline Chef Karnail Singh of Tandoor Grill to take on Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk and Phillipsburg Mayor Todd Tersigni and their chefs.
• Mystery Basket Cook-off – (Saturday at 3 pm at the Stinkin’ Culinary Stage) – Executive Chef Cristian Gonzalez of The Shelby and Hampton Winds Culinary Instructor Tyler Baxter of Northampton Community College are engaging in a garlic-filled smackdown in this judged competition. Each chef will receive an identical mystery basket filled with fresh, local ingredients chosen by Easton Farmers’ Market Manager Megan McBride. They will have 30 minutes to create a garlicky meal using only those ingredients.
• Chef Cooking Demonstration – (Sunday at 1 pm at the Stinkin’ Culinary Stage) – Watch a mouthwatering chef-demonstration of epic garlic proportions with free samples (while they last).
• NEW: Chef’s Choice Cook-off – (Sunday at 3 pm at the Stinkin’ Culinary Stage) – Executive Chef Abe Lopez of Stoke takes on a secret guest chef in a garlic head-to-head battle. Watch and see who can wow the judges.
• Three stages of free live music (both days) – The Sizzlin’ HOT Latin Music Stage at Northampton & 2^nd Streets, the School of Rock Stage at N. 3^rd and Spring Garden Streets, and the Main Stage at 3rd & Ferry Streets. • Sizzlin’ HOT Latin Quarter (both days) – Located on Northampton Street between 2^nd and 3^rd Streets, it features Hispanic and Latino food vendors and a stage with live music and a DJ.
• Big Stinkin’ Wheel of Cheese Booth (both days) – $10 (cash only) – It starts with a wheel of melted Pecorino Romano cheese which gourmet rigatoni pasta is swirled around in. It is then topped with your choice of garlic pesto or creamy garlic sauce. Cheese wheel and pasta are provided by sponsor Vicidomini USA.
• Gastric Garlic People’s Choice Contest – $12 (tickets at the door; cash only)
  • Noon – 2:30 pm on Saturday; located in the Pungent Plaza
  • 400 people will sample and judge the best garlic dish created by chefs from local restaurants. Participants determine which chef will take home the coveted garlic bulb winner’s plaque.
• Dangerous Desserts People’s Choice Contest – $12 (tickets at the door, cash only)
  • Noon – 2:30 pm on Sunday; located in the Pungent Plaza
  • Be one of 200 people to sample and judge the best garlic dessert created by chefs from local restaurants. Participants determine which chef creates the best dish.
• Beer Tent sponsored by The Alfero Company and hosted by 3^rd & Ferry Fish Market – featuring a selection of draft and canned beer, and also garlic Bloody Marys, fall spiced margaritas, and blueberry honey red sangrias.
• Little Stinkers Row at N. 3rd & Church Streets – moon bounce, obstacle course and a trackless train, plus games of chance, and a face painter (activities are fee based). Free activities include balloon animals with Balloons the Clown on Sunday from 1-4 pm, and make your own paper garlic hat (both days). At 11 am both days, kids can sign up for a chance to participate in the Culinary Kids Cooking Contest, which starts at 2 pm. Five names are selected to compete.
