Allentown West Rotary Club & the Western Lehigh Chamber of Commerce are hosting Casino Night at the Museum. On Friday September 23, 2022 from 5-9pm at America On Wheels Museum, you and friends can have a night out while helping raise funds for a great cause. Rotary International is a charitable, philanthropic organization that operates through our own charitable 501c3 foundation (82-0589636). The Rotary Club Foundation has zero operating expenses and supports many local projects.
When was the last time you had the chance to throw some dice or lay down some chips surrounded by the coolest cars in the Valley? Here’s a chance to have some fun while supporting great programs to benefit youth and families in your own backyard! Sponsorships range from $500-$3,000; Allentown West Rotary Club is also accepting luxury prizes as a Sponsorship option and gift baskets are much appreciated for our prize table.
100% of proceeds will fund Allentown West Rotary’s humanitarian programs which include:
Snack Pack Program
Provides nutritious food over weekends for hungry students in need. Currently serving students in the Parkland School District. Parkland Interact Club members and volunteers from Allentown West Rotary Club and supporters fill the packages. On an as-requested basis, we have also conducted this program in Northwestern Lehigh and LCCC.
Post-Secondary School Scholarships
Each May, the Allentown West Rotary Club provides up to eight $1,000 Scholarships to students attending post-secondary educational institutions. Students are selected from the following schools: Northwestern Lehigh School District; Parkland School District; Lehigh Carbon Community College; Lehigh Career and Technical Institute
Green Thumbs Garden Project
This rapidly expanding project provides fresh produce to many area pantries. Produce is grown at a local community garden without pesticides and provides a learning platform for youth and families to engage in healthy gardening practices while doing good in the community.
Garden Project at Parkland Community Library
The Allentown West Rotary Green Thumbs Garden Project is supporting a new initiative with the Parkland Community Library and the South Whitehall Township Green Advisory Council to develop inter-generational gardening classes in the Parkland area. Produce grown from this garden will support local families in need.
Parkland C.A.R.E.S. Food Pantry
A $6,000 grant provided refrigeration, computer, printer, coolers, tables and other needed start-up equipment and supplies. We provide fresh produce monthly for 60 -100 families.
Lowhill Food Pantry
Monthly produce is provided as well as gift cards and other needs as they arise.
Student of the Month
Outstanding students are recognized at our morning meeting and rewarded with an Amazon gift card.
STEM YEA (Youth Explorer Academy)
New Initiative! This year we are proud to be the supporting club of a district-wide, four-day, three-night STEM program designed in conjunction with the SETI Institute and Albright College. A residential experience, designed for underserved middle school students, it promises to be an inspiring program for a crucial age group, preparing them for the STEM fields of the future. In addition, our club will give two students scholarships to the program.
Camp Neidig
Two students receive scholarships to Camp Neidig, a Leadership event for high school students.
Youth Exchange Program
Youth Exchange is a study abroad program for young people sponsored by Rotary International and local Rotary Clubs.
New Early Educational Project
We are excited to be working on developing a new educational project for Parkland and Northwestern school districts
Allentown West Rotary Club is looking for In-Kind Donations to serve as prize items for attendees. These donations will help them raise funds for the projects they do in their community.
