The Historic Easton Cemetery, located at 401 North 7th Street, is pleased to announce that on August 1, 2022 the cemetery will be receiving a day of charitable tree service work to remove upwards of sixty-five dead and/or hazardous trees throughout the grounds. This is an amazing event with local companies supporting a local non profit. The Easton Cemetery is a gem within the city heading to a more secure future.
The local tree services that have committed to participating in this charitable work are:
Betterscapes Lawn, Shrub &Tree Car
Crafted Landscapes & Expert Tree Care
The cemetery has been working closely with the City of Easton’s Forester, Rob Christopher, to develop a comprehensive plan for both maintaining its existing mature trees as well as for replacement plantings to ensure a healthy forest for the future. The reforestation effort began in in 2021 with native trees that were donated by The Arbor Day Foundation Event/ Community Tree Recovery Grant. Mr. Christopher is also applying for additional grants with the hope of planting a significant number of additional trees this coming fall.
