Annual Event with Celebrity Guest, Actor Daniel Roebuck is Most Successful Ever
Lehigh Valley, PA – March 10, 2022 – The Cay Galgon Life House hosted their 10th Annual fundraising Gala on Saturday, March 5th at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem. This year’s dessert auction raised a whopping $85,000, doubling the previous record set in 2020. The evening’s Celebrity Guest was Bethlehem native, actor, writer, producer and director, Daniel Roebuck, who entertained and inspired the crowd with humorous and heartfelt stories.
The highlight of the Gala was the signature dessert auction, with more than 20 beautiful cakes on display. All of the cakes had an “animal” theme and were donated by local bakeries. Each table of attendees placed silent bids, hoping to win the opportunity to select their choice of the cake that would serve as their dessert.
Guests were also treated to a touching and uplifting program. Roebuck, who is known for his faith-based mission to bring film-making projects to the Lehigh Valley, offered heart-warming remarks and praise for those who support the Life House. Inspiring stories were also shared by three mothers who had been supported by Cay Galgon Life House when they were pregnant and in need of help. Blessing were offered by Monsignor John Murphy, who served as pastor at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church for over 40 years. Murphy was honored as the 2022 CGLH Angel Award recipient.
“I think that Cay Galgon would be proud tonight,” reported Emily Parker, CGLH Executive Director. “The attendees of this gala and all of our supporters are just like Cay, who has a legacy of a tenacious and active fight for the most vulnerable in our communities. This support enables the Life House to prepare homeless pregnant women and mothers of infants for a life of self-reliance.”
