A look at some of the delicious soups guests can savor at ArtsQuest’s upcoming Souper Bowl XII on Sunday, March 13, 2022

 

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Get your spoons ready, ArtsQuest’s Souper Bowl XII is coming up on Sunday, March 13, 2022. This 12th annual culinary experience will feature creations from some of the top restaurateurs in the region.

The Bethlehem Area Vocational -Technical School Culinary Arts student team, led by Instructors Lawrence Fortunato and Scott Ferry, will work to defend their two-time “People’s Choice” title at this year’s event. This year, they are cooking up a chilled strawberry coconut bourbon soup, a paella soup, a smoky chicken corn chowder and creole alligator gumbo.

Cool down with a chilled strawberry rhubarb or warm up with a roasted chestnut and mushroom creation from The View at Morgan HillDaisy Hill Kitchen & Grill will be serving up a vegan friendly “Very Veggie” soup. Guests can also choose to sample their chicken bacon ranch option. Forks Mediterranean Deli will serve up Fattee, a Mediterranean vegetarian, gluten-free soup prepared with chickpeas, topped with homemade strained yogurt and pomegranate molasses. Guests can also try Adas, a Swiss chard and lentil soup.

Roasted Bethlehem will dish out a roasted red pepper and tomato bisque, potato leek soup and vegan-friendly crispy crouton option. The Trolley Stop is creating a roasted tomato coconut bisque with charred citrus balsamic vinaigrette (vegan) and a beer can chicken soup with spätzle style dumplings. Pat’s Pizza & Bistro will serve up Pat’s signature kale and sausage soup, along with Mount Athos octopus and navy bean soup. Foundation Tavern is stirring up kabocha squash and lobster bisque, as well as a vegan bento box soup.

Saucon Valley Country Club is working up a braised beef short rib pot pie. Passanante’s Home Food Services is planning traditional beef stew with organic vegetables. ArtsQuest’s Musikfest Café, in partnership with Levy Restaurants, will whip up a smokey cheeseburger chowder and halupki soup.

A panel of expert and celebrity judges will award the best vegan, seafood-based, cream-based, meat-based, most surprising ingredient and most original creations. Guests will also choose who wins the coveted “People’s Choice” award. Attendees can enjoy samples from Mishka Premium Vodka and cocktails from Levy Restaurants during the event. There will also be a live performance by Lehigh Valley based jazz-blues band, Dolcetto TrioAttendees can enter a raffle for a chance to win gift cards donated by the participating restaurants.

Tickets for General admission start at $32 for ArtsQuest Members and $36 for the public. VIP Tasting Tickets will also be available for purchase on steelstacks.org. These passes will include early entry into the venue, a free drink ticket for any Yuengling beer, wine from Franklin Hills Vineyards, or a soft drink, plus automatic entry into a VIP only raffle for a chance to win a year-long pass to the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas and a Yuengling beer cooler.
