Lee Butz, Esther M. Lee, Just Born Quality Confections,  Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley to be honored at in-person, televised “live” event on Wednesday, May 4

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA. – WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9, 2022 – Lehigh Valley Public Media (LVPM), home of PBS39 and its sister station 91.3 WLVR, announced today the recipients of its 6th annual PBS39 Good Neighbor Awards. This year’s event will be held in person at the ArtsQuest Center with a live broadcast on PBS39. Honorees will include Lee A. Butz, Chairman of the Board of Alvin H. Butz, Inc.; long-time civil rights activist and former PBS39 Board member Esther M. Lee, Just Born Quality Confections and the Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley .

The PBS39 Good Neighbor Awards are given each year in the spirit of Fred Rogers to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to improving the quality of life in our community.

“We are excited to be able to gather in celebration of this year’s Good Neighbor Award honorees to recognize those individuals and organizations that have had such a positive impact on our community,” said Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh Valley Public Media. “Our hope is that this event will inspire and encourage our community as we look to brighter days ahead.”

The 2022 Good Neighbor Awards will take place on Wednesday, May 4 at the ArtsQuest Center on the SteelStacks campus in South Bethlehem, and will be televised live on PBS39, with streaming on pbs39.org/live and on Facebook  at facebook.com/PBS39Channel. TV personality Stacey Stauffer will return as host for this year’s festivities.

Last year’s event also marked the establishment of the PBS39 Good Neighbor Fund, which provides educational resources to underserved communities in the Lehigh Valley and supports informative programming for students and parents throughout the year. A special thank you to Highmark Blue Shield, who matched the first $15,000 in contributions to the Good Neighbor Fund.
