FURR TO HOST PASTA DINNER FEB. 12 AT SAFETY FIRST, WEST EASTON
$15 per person includes dinner, tricky tray, 50/50
EASTON, PA.— Feline Urban Rescue and Rehab (FURR), a Lehigh Valley and Warren County N.J. 501(c)(3) dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of community cats, will host a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, February 12 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Safety First Volunteer Fire Company, 601 Keystone Ave., (West) Easton, PA., 18042.
All proceeds will benefit the hundreds of cats FURR has in its care, from TNR cases to socializing feral kittens, and from rehabilitating cats that have suffered dramatic illness and injury to cats that have been rescued from abuse.
The event will feature a family-friendly pasta dinner with salad and bread, refreshments, dessert and a cash bar. Admission is $15 per person.
FURR serves the entire Lehigh Valley, Warren County, N.J. and even the Poconos. In its nearly 20 years of existence it has helped thousands of cats. In 2020 alone, FURR matched more than 700 families and cats through adoption and trapping, neutering and returning an additional 700 “community cats” into supported colonies.
With about 25 volunteers and no official building or facilities, FURR has worked with dedicated individuals, Lehigh County Humane Society, Let’s Trap Lehigh Valley, Furry Feet Rescue and a variety of good-hearted local veterinarians. FURR accepts cats when no one else will, including cats adopted from other animal welfare organizations and cats left behind when people are evicted from their homes.
FURR also works with farmers through a free barn cat program and promotes animal companionship for senior citizens through their Senior for Seniors program, where an older adult fosters a senior cat and the organization will provide the cat’s veterinary needs and future care.
All proceeds will benefit the cats, as FURR has no paid staff. People wishing to help can visit felineurbanrescueandrehab.org and fill out a volunteer application. FURR always needs foster families, drivers and trappers.
