FAMILY VOLUNTEER DAY, Saturday, November 20th, is held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving. It is an opportunity for families to work together to serve their community, have quality time for busy families, strengthen communication, and have a positive impact on local communities. GRACEDALE NURSING HOME, Nazareth is looking for friendly & courteous volunteers to wait on customers (residents, staff, visitors) and complete transactions in our gift shop. Stock shelves as needed, arranging items attractively. Available Shifts are 1-3:00 p.m. on Wednesdays & Thursdays. Background check and orientation provided. HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS needs volunteers to donate wrapped shoeboxes filled with age-appropriate items for Lehigh Valley’s children in need. Suggested gift lists are provided on our website. This program, coordinated by the Volunteer Center, is a great project for large/small groups, clubs, classes, families, and individuals. NEW BETHANY MINISTRIES, Bethlehem seeks volunteers to prepare for Luminaria Night 2021 from 3-5:30 p.m. on November 9th, 10th, 11th, 16th, and 17th at a Valley Center Parkway location. We need to assemble 10,000 luminaria kits. Each kit will consist of ten paper bags, ten candles, and one large Ziplock bag of sand. We will take individuals or groups. THE SALVATION ARMY CHILDREN’S SERVICES is hosting our annual Christmas party for foster families on Saturday, December 11 at Swamp Mennonite Church in Quakertown. We are looking for imaginative volunteers to create a beautiful winter wonderland scene that we can use as a background for photos with Santa. The background should be able to accommodate families of various sizes and be able to be wiped or sprayed down with disinfectant between uses.
