Lamont McClure and Administrator Jennifer Stewart-King report that, currently, there are no cases of COVID-19 among residents or staff at Gracedale Nursing Home and that the facility has not seen a death from the virus since mid-April.
“The health and well-being of our residents is our highest priority,” says Jennifer Stewart-King. “We are very grateful for our residents and employees who have agreed to be vaccinated. Gracedale hasn’t had a death linked to COVID-19 in six months and I believe that is due to our strong vaccination program.”
“Vaccines save lives and livelihoods,” says Lamont McClure. “We want everyone who walks through the doors of Gracedale to be vaccinated.”
Gracedale’s in-house pharmacy holds a weekly vaccine clinic for residents and staff. They will begin administering booster shots this week. Currently, 92% of residents and 65% of the staff have received a vaccination for COVID-19. Unvaccinated staff members are tested for COVID-19 twice a week.
All family and compassionate visitations at Gracedale must be scheduled through the Therapeutic Recreation Department or a Social Service worker and all visitors must follow the facility’s infection prevention protocols while on site.
