LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – State Senator Pat Browne (R-16) will host a special State Budget Telephone Town Hall on Tuesday, August 17, at 6:00 p.m. The Telephone Town Hall is designed to provide listeners with a better understanding of how the state budget works, what the recently passed 2021-22 state budget contains and how the state budget affects the citizens of the Commonwealth.
The Telephone Town Hall is free and open to the public.
Senator Browne is the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, which is tasked with providing oversight to the Commonwealth’s fiscal matters and leads the Senate in developing the annual state budget.
“As Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I believe it is important to provide taxpayers with a better understanding of how the state government works, especially in regard to the state budget,” Senator Browne said. “The state budget, and the programs it supports, affects the lives of all Pennsylvanians and I look forward to sharing this information with those who participate on Tuesday, August 17th.”
Constituents will have the opportunity to ask questions during the approximately fifty-minute program.
Constituents will also be able to watch the event on Sen. Browne’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/SenatorBrowne , where a live video presentation will be played in conjunction with the Telephone Town Hall.
The Telephone Town Hall format allows the community to listen and participate in the discussion without the need to leave their homes. Participants may ask questions or simply remain on their phone lines to listen to the conversation.
Constituents will receive a phone call invitation on their landline or cell phone on Tuesday, August 17, at 6:00 p.m. asking if they would like to participate in the live call.
