ALLENTOWN, PA — Stephen Vandenberg, PT, DPT, has been named manager of outpatient neurorehabilitation at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, a nationally recognized rehabilitation leader committed to transforming lives through expertise, innovation and compassion.

A physical therapist by training, Vandenberg now oversees Good Shepherd’s neurorehabilitation team of physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists at the state-of-the-art Good Shepherd Health & Technology Center, 850 S. 5th Street, in South Allentown.

Good Shepherd’s outpatient neurorehabilitation team specializes in caring for people with disabilities, injuries, illnesses or chronic conditions — stroke, traumatic brain injury, concussion, spinal cord injury, COVID-19, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Guillain-Barré syndrome, adult developmental delay and other disorders. The Good Shepherd neurorehabilitation team uses innovative rehabilitation technologies to aid patients in their recoveries, including exoskeletons, immersive virtual reality and more.

“The best part of the job is witnessing and helping people accomplish lifechanging events, such as walking for the first time, returning to a sport, or allowing someone to roll over in bed without dizziness,” says Vandenberg. “At Good Shepherd, we go the extra mile to show our patients that no matter the situation — big or small — our compassionate experts will spend the time to do what’s best for patients. No exceptions.”

A Good Shepherd clinician since 2015, Vandenberg most recently served as outpatient neurorehabilitation physical therapy supervisor.

Vandenberg earned a bachelor’s degree in comprehensive sciences from Villanova University and a doctorate in physical therapy from Thomas Jefferson University – School of Health Professions.
