June 28, 2021: The Celtic Cultural Alliance has announced its music line-up for the Celtic Classic Highland Games and Festival, which will take place on September 24-26, 2021, in downtown Bethlehem.
“We are excited this year that many of our crowd favorites are returning, like Barleyjuice, while we have up and coming bands, such as Fig for a Kiss and Chivalrous Crickets,” explained Jayne Ann Recker, Executive Director.
The Celtic Classic has 5 free stages of Celtic music throughout the festival grounds and in the Ice House. Celtic bands will perform over 100 hours of free Celtic music, ranging in styles from traditional to Celtic rock. Many of the Celtic tunes are the traditional Irish jigs, shanties, drinking songs and ballads combined with lyrical story-telling.
Celtic Aire, the premier Celtic and folk ensemble of the United States Air Force, will be performing on Saturday and Sunday. Formed in 2007, the group is comprised of four Airmen musicians from the United States Air Force Band’s Singing Sergeants, the official chorus of the U.S. Air Force
In addition to musical performances, O’Grady Quinlan Irish Academy of Dance will have several performances throughout the festival weekend. With precision footwork and dazzling costumes, O’Grady Quinlan shares the Irish culture through their performances.
Celtic Classic will also see the return of Gene Sheninger of Wayside Farm. Sheninger will demonstrate how border collies can herd sheep and ducks. Border collies have been used for herding for hundreds of years in the Celtic nations.
