The Bethlehem Area School District is excited to announce the following Principal and Administrative Nominations that were approved at the May 24, 2021, Regular Board Meeting.
The Governor Wolf Elementary School Principal vacancy will be filled by Rick Amato. Mr. Amato served as the Broughal Middle School Principal for the past five years and prior served as Assistant Principal for two years. Mr. Amato also served as an Assistant Principal of Wilson Area School District. He started his teaching career in the Bethlehem Area School working at East Hills and then Nitschmann Middle School. Mr. Amato received his Bachelor of Science from East Stroudsburg University and his Master of Education from Wilkes University.
The Broughal Middle School Principal vacancy will be filled by Brandon Horlick. Mr. Horlick served as the assistant principal of Nitschmann Middle School for the past three years. Prior he served as a Special Education Learning Support Teacher at Liberty High School. Mr. Horlick also taught social studies at Norristown Area School District. Mr. Horlick received both his Bachelor of Science and Master’s of Education from Kutztown University. Mr. Horlick also received his certification in Special Education from Wilkes University and his Administrative Certification from Moravian College.
The Bethlehem Area School District position of Supervisor of Social/Emotional Health Services will be filled by Tracey Hirner. Ms. Hirner is currently the principal of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School and has served in that role for the past five years. Mrs. Hirner also served in several other roles in the BASD including Assistant Principal at East Hills, Guidance Counselor at Northeast, and Guidance Counselor at the BASD Career Academy. Ms. Hirner’s education background includes a Bachelor’s Degree from Kutztown University and a Master’s Degree from Wilkes University.
The Thomas Jefferson Elementary School Principal vacancy will be filled by Elizabeth Ramsey. Mrs. Ramsey served as the Assistant Principal at Liberty High School for the past five years. During her time in the Bethlehem Area School, she also served as a guidance counselor at both Freedom and Liberty High Schools and as the Department Chair at Liberty. She received her Bachelor of Science from Lock Haven University and her Master’s Degree from Lehigh University.
We welcome Mr. Amato, Mr. Horlick, Ms. Hirner, and Mrs. Ramsey in their new positions in the Bethlehem Area School District.
