Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Berks/Lehigh) has announced his district office in the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building will be offering a Senior Day, by appointment, on the third Friday of every month. This month’s Senior Day will take place on April 16.
Senior citizens living on fixed incomes are facing a lot of financial challenges. Mackenzie’s staff can assist seniors with applications or provide more information on any programs that may be available to them at no cost, to help ease some of the stress. Residents do not need to pay a third party for assistance with these forms.
Programs that are available to seniors range from the PA1000 Property Tax/Rent Rebate program; PACE/PACENET prescription assistance; reduced vehicle registration fee; handicap placard; and Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
There are several other services available to senior citizens. As always, seniors are welcome any time to come to the office for assistance, but older adults and their caretakers or family members are encouraged to schedule an appointment for the monthly Senior Day to learn more.
The district office at the Lower Macungie Township Administration Building is located at 3402 Brookside Road in Macungie. Please call the office at 610-965-9933 to schedule an appointment as they are necessary.
