Three recent police academy graduates and the city’s newest hire received their City of Allentown Police Department badges during a brief ceremony this afternoon in City Council chambers.

Officers Jonathan Manning, Louis Santiago, Jeramy DeVaul and Kyle Dull are beginning their platoon assignments and working with a Field Training Officer.  The on-the-street training period will last at least 16 weeks before the officers will begin patrolling on their own.

Manning, Santiago and DeVaul were hired in April and graduated from the Allentown Police Academy last month.  Dull was hired in November.  He graduated from Temple University Police Academy in October 2014 and worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Lehigh County and Montrose County in Colorado.

Officer Manning graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School and attended Northampton County Community College and Luzerne County Community College.

Officer Santiago graduated from Roberto Clemente Charter School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Marketing from Muhlenberg College.

Officer DeVaul graduated from Hackettstown High School in Warren County, New Jersey and holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.  He served in the United States Army National Guard.

Officer Dull received his diploma from Pennsbury High School and holds an Associate of Arts degree in Information Technology from ITT Tech Bensalem Campus.  He served in the U.S. Army.
