LEHIGH VALLEY, PA- In response to the unfolding civil rights protests across the country sparked by the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Lehigh Valley Young Republicans (LVYR), are donating $125 to the Allentown NAACP and $125 to the Bethlehem NAACP.
The donation’s goal is to help provide resources to the civil rights watchdog to help safeguard vulnerable communities in the Lehigh Valley against infringements on their most sacred rights as Americans.
“The Lehigh Valley Young Republicans condemn in the strongest terms possible all forms of racism, whether systemic, societal or institutional,” said Frank Hesch III, LVYR Chairman. “Our organization is proud of its long history of being a force for inclusion and peaceful political expression for all Americans. We overwhelming support the dedicated public servants in law enforcement who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe, but we as a society must stand up to those who abuse their authority and duty.”
The LVYRs are adding their voice to the growing chorus across the country, peacefully advocating for responsible changes to the current system to ensure the protection of civil rights for all Americans, especially those in minority communities.
“We pride ourselves on being an organization of action on issues that affect those in our Lehigh Valley community,” Hesch said. “This donation is aimed at providing real world change, right here in the Lehigh Valley to those who need it the most.”
The Lehigh Valley Young Republicans is an organization dedicated to being a positive force in the broader Lehigh Valley community by providing members with an outlet for political expression, civic engagement, charitable works, and networking.
